The talks have been on the rail of progress in recent days though advancing slowly and cautiously, according to the teams in the Austrian capital. This can be evidenced by the increased diplomatic traffic and repeated, lengthy meetings between the negotiating teams.
Russia's representative in the talks Mikhail Ulyanov, who has recently been a constant commenter on the talks in the social media and the press, has repeatedly acknowledged the positive atmosphere and progress in the negotiations.
On January 7, Ulyanov told reporters in Palais Coburg, where the talks take place, that all participants now share the view that some progress has been achieved in reviving the 2015 nuclear deal, formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), and reaching a final deal in February was now a logical conclusion.
The Chinese representative in the talk Wang Qun who is not as active as Ulyanov in the social media has said that the talks have been moving forward, though slowly.
In addition to Russia and China, European participants to the deal, too, are cautiously giving a positive evaluation of the talks in their public statements in recent days after a long period of denial of including Iran's demands in the drafts.
We had progress in several cases in the past few days, French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said on Friday in a radio interview, adding that the talks were in a fairly positive path, but the time is running out.
The United States that indirectly participates in the talks has also admitted progress.
Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian said on Sunday that Iran will return to the full compliance with the JCPOA if other parties implement their share under the deal, as the US has specially exited the deal and European participants have be following Washington.
Iran is not seeking to make the talks attritional nor is it ready to give 10 concessions and take one, Amirabdollahian said, adding that if the participants had a serious determination, a good deal in the shortest time was possible.
Overall, it can be perceived from the statements that the talks are moving forward on Tehran's initiative and it the other parties show serious determination to remove sanctions on Iran, a good deal can be reached in a short time.
